Event Planning Assistant (part-time)

IANS is seeking a part-time entry level Event Planning Assistant to help organize and implement our events. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, outgoing professional with exceptional organizational skills.  Key traits include determination, a hustler mentality, eagerness to learn, and a heightened attention to detail.  This position is based in Boston, reporting to the Senior Director of Events. 

The Event Planning Assistant will possess skills and work ethic aligned with IANS’ values of grit, results, initiative, passion and positivity. 

This is a part-time position, approximately 25-30 hours/week.

Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in the on-site event set up and registration for IANS Forums
  • Prepare and print name tags, materials, packages and registration lists
  • Assist with building the IANS Mobile App
  • Enter post-event survey data
  • Create post-event emails for slides and certificates of completion
  • Prepare and maintain sales collateral folders
  • Manage office supplies
  • Other duties as required

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Event experience via an internship or work experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word; Creative Cloud experience is a plus
  • Process orientation and able to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong team and collaborative orientation
  • Effective time management skills and a sense of urgency; able to work under pressure
  • Approximately 20% U.S. travel
