Senior Systems Administrator

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Security, the Senior Systems Administrator will run the IT department with responsibility for providing managed and IT services to employees and supporting client related issues.  The ideal candidate is an accomplished system technician leader.

Core Job Functions:

  • Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction scores are met across the board
  • Plan and execute a wide variety of IT projects for our multiple business units
  • Be proactive in creating security policies and supporting security initiatives
  • Perform security audits and reviews; learn and adapt to evolving security best practices and standards
  • Provide application support including troubleshooting, storage management and system backups
  • Take ownership of system disaster recovery plans and performance quarterly recovery exercises
  • Deliver high quality desktop support for IANS staff, responding promptly to and resolving hardware and software challenges (PC and Mac); clarify, prioritize and resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain operational and technical policies and standards
  • Manage third party vendor relationships and be the point of contact for negotiating other partnerships
  • Identify improvements to raise the quality and efficiency of service to our end users
  • Create management reports on our server, application and systems KPIs


  • 6+ years of IT experience with a focus on systems administration
  • Expert on both PC and Mac support
  • Deep understanding of common security products and intrusion detection
  • Prior experience implementing security and IT best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or software engineering
  • Advanced experience with Active Directory and SAAS application management, (Box, O365, Sales Force, etc.)
  • Network and desktop trouble shooting; deliver prompt and effective desktop support services to end user
