Lead Development Representative

Position Overview:

The Lead Development Representative (LDR) is responsible for accelerating demand generation productivity. This role will be focused on prospecting, qualifying leads, generating interest and setting up initial meetings for the senior sales team. The LDR’s will leverage IANS events, content campaigns and social media to build rapport with prospects to drive interest and engagement.  This is a critical role at the juncture of IANS marketing and sales teams, and an opportunity for a focused, driven professional looking to accelerate their career and contribute to a high performance organization.

Core job functions include:

  • Drive registrations to ensure IANS events have the attendance needed to accelerate new business
  • Follow up on all marketing generated leads to identify potential prospects via telephone and mass communication (email and social media)
  • Maintain a high level of prompt, concise and compelling email communications to assist in driving engagements
  • Set up discovery meetings for Account Executives and Territory Vice Presidents responsible for new business pipeline
  • Prospect for new business opportunities and effectively qualify opportunities for fit and likelihood of closing
  • Manage prospect information and track activities in Salesforce.com CRM system
  • Develop prospect profiles by identifying key stakeholders, building out valid contact details, and capturing data that would prove useful in making an initial sales contact
  • Limited travel as needed to support the process

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of business development experience supporting a mature sales process, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Growth potential – The ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn new skills and take on additional responsibility as IANS grows
  • Understands basic technology concepts
  • Aptitude to understand the information security industry and the broad range of issues our clients grapple with
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
