Senior IT Systems Administrator

Position Overview: 

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation, maintenance and enhancement of our systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.  The position will also be the technical lead in designing programs, reports and systems to support the needs of our sales, events, consulting and research teams to ensure innovative and reliable delivery.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive and able to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.

Core Job Functions:

  • Lead all IT infrastructure related projects
  • Plan and execute a wide variety of IT projects across our multiple business units
  • Provide application support including troubleshooting and storage management
  • Manage disaster recovery plans and security procedures
  • Perform system backups; manage file archiving and purging
  • Deliver high quality desktop support for IANS staff, responding promptly to and resolving hardware and software challenges (PC and Mac); Clarify, prioritize and resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain operational and technical policies and standards
  • Manage third party vendor relationships and be the point of contact for negotiating other partnerships
  • Identify improvements to raise the quality and efficiency of service to our end users
  • Create management reports on our server, application and systems KPIs

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT experience with focus on systems administration
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or software engineering
  • Hands on experience in network monitoring and application performance testing/tuning
  • Able to work on both PC and Mac platforms
  • An understanding of Active Directory administration and management
  • Has managed SaaS applications, i.e. Box, O365, SalesForce, etc.
  • Prior experience implementing security and IT best practices
  • Network and desktop trouble shooting; deliver prompt and effective desktop support services to end users
